After Ramayan DD to Telecast ‘Uttar Ramayan’

During this stage, when the lockdown has made everyone to follow the motto “Stay Home, Stay Safe“, Doordarshan has made the quarantine period more serene and devotional with the telecast of Ramayan. Since Ramayan is a huge hit and has made Indian audience go back to the ’90s or some in their childhood, Doordarshan has now decided to telecast Uttar Ramayan.

Here’s what Uttar Ramayan is and when it’s episode is going to be aired-

1. Uttar Kand wasn’t part of the original Ramayan which was written by Maharshi Valmiki. However, this was added later to it. In Ramacharitmanas, which is authored by Tulsidas Ji, it is the 7th Kand.

2. Uttar Ramayan comprises Uttar Kand and Luv Kush Kand. It depicts the story after the assassination of Ravan (King of Lanka) by Lord Ram, Coronation of Shree Ram as the King of Ayodhya, Ram Rajya, Birth of Luv Kush, Departure of Goddess Sita from Mrityulok (Earth) with Mother Earth, the ideal life of Lord Ram.

3. Doordarshan has decided to telecast the Uttar Ramayan (also called Luv Kush) from Sunday, 19th April. The CEO of Prasar Bharti has shared it on Twitter. The timing will be 9 PM and the repeat telecast will be shown at 9 AM in the morning.

4. The success of Ramayan & people’s love for this T.V. series is doubtlessly the inspiration behind this decision of Doordarshan to present the follow-up or last chapter of Mahakavya Ramayan. More than that, it’s really engaging the people at home.

5. Ramayan is all about the ideal life, responsibility, moral & ethics and human character. It shows the way of life by presenting the ideal life of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, Prince Lakshaman, Prince Bharat, Lord Hanuman and every other character who puts ideals and principles above the pleasure.

No doubt that Ramananda Sagar’s timeless TV series Ramayan is really winning hearts. All the characters had put their best effort to achieve the ideals of Ramayan. Hope you are enjoying this quarantine time watching this great epic.
